hi my name is karlene, i have got my date for pre-op on the 18th october and op is booked for the 10th november is was the 3rd november but got cancelled which i was abit upset about but looking forward to the 10th

hello hun and welcome can i just ask how long did u have to wait until u got a date? im under heartlands too, ive got my first appointment 22nd october, i was uner dr therie before doin the weight management programme did u have to do this?

I was on the diet tablets for just under a year and lost about 4 and half stone came of them to see if i could do it myself but the weight came back on, so i went back to the doctor in may of this year and got some different tablet and asked my doctor if she could put me forward for a gastric band, i got my letter from the pct in june saying i had the funding for the op, then july i got another letter saying i had an appointment on the 19th august, then in september i got my letter with the date for my op

thanks so much it has helped because i thought that maybe wen i go for my first appointment he my make me do the weight management again as i heard everyone under heartlands has to do this?? but as u havernt then maybe i wont have to again as like u iv been on 3 differant diet pills, managed t lose weight but when i come of them it all piles bk on!! same with weight management after loosing weight with them its all gone bk on, so hopefully they agree to do surgery, my dr refered me t the surgeons august but i got a letter back saying they couldnt accept a referal from my gp as they aint a specialist in weight management or wls so i got refered from the surgeon to the weight management team to see the consultant to see what he thinks best hpefully i wont have to do another programme but if i do im sure the wait will be worth it.
