Hi Everyone,
My name is pannini and i am from Blackburn Lancashire, I have had my Lap Band in since 2007 and i am sorry to say things haven't gone well for me, after being told i wasn't fat enough to have my Band done in the UK i traveled to Prague no real problems came back and had my first fill in Manchester infact i had several fills but only managed to take 7lbs of over a few years.. after being constantly sick i decided to have the fill taken out the Surgeon said i had an inflamed eusophegus and that the Band was no use to me and they wouldn't fill it again.. i carried on over the next few years without a fill but in April this year i started getting a Bad pain around my port and at that point it felt like my Band had inflated itself then in July this year i could no longer eat without everything coming back.. I saw my Surgeon who said i needed a CT scan and a Barium swallow I had these but neither should any problem with the Band, I am now at the stage were i want my Band removed but i have been told that i have to wait until funding is approved if it isn't I am in deep problems money wise.. I also know i cant carry on just having soup without any chunks of veg but if i do i am sick has anyone else had this problem please help!!

i have already introduced myself

sorry I missed introducing myself, I have been Banded 7yrs but i am sorry to say things didn't go well for me, I wasn't Fat enough to have my Band fitted in the UK so at 13stone i took myself off to Prague, I had no problems while i was out there but after six weeks i had only lost 2lb so i thought i might need a fill, I had several fills over the next few years but in total i only lost 7lbs, I was constantly having fills in and then taken out because of vomiting that one day the consultant said that my esophagus was very inflamed and that he was sorry to say that the band would have to be unfilled and never to be filled again, upset about this i carried on dieting but nothing could help me to loose any weight, April this year i don't know what happened but i couldn't keep my food down it was as if i was fully restricted again? I went to the doctors who told me i needed a Barium swallow and a CT Scan both of which came back showing that the band was still in place, I haven't eaten a full plate of food for 2months, i am going to see the specialist next Wed 10/12/2014 to see if i can have the Band taken out as the pain around my port is very tender and sore, i have been told that they may have to apply for funding seeing that i had the Band fitted in Prague can anyone advise?
