NOT HAPPY HOSPITAL GONE BUST

Also NHS England won't help me etc although if I was welsh and lived in Wales I'd be covered by welsh nhs law.
As I'm English it doesn't apply to me, been to my gp and they've contacted pct and to no avail. No one is trained apparently have no equipment either! =( *cry*

I feel oh so very low with my weight and amount of debt this has all left me with! I was unhappy, fat. But no debt now am ...fat very unhappy and in debt! =(

You could use my address if that were the case but the welsh office would not help out for the same reason as your pct.

If I lived in Wales I'd be covered! We did think about it as my partners nan lives in Wales and
To say I lived there but takes too long to probably pass over all medical stuff etc then I'd be buggered here if I became ill!

Btw, 4 welsh hospitals have equipment. Seems the welsh are specialised in spatz balloons lol

I'd refuse to pay the company that went bust. If they aren't providing you with a service, why should you pay? Let them take you to court. I bet it gets thrown out.

Do not know which hospitals in wales have the equipment. i looked into the spatz balloon and any hospital near here was quoting £10000. it is very difficult to get wls on the welsh nhs.

Hmm that's right Paula - well said - a contract works both ways! The cash you borrowed was intended as payment for services you have not received, and will not be receiving at any point in future. It might be worth investigating what the company would be legally entitled to do should you decide not to pay for non-existent treatment.

I am so sorry to hear of the extra expense and hassle. It's so unfair x

I know considering the loan was thru a company they advertised, I never saw the month goes direct to them but I'm not entitled to anything back, constant letters and nothing, they're still taking payments, If I stop payments ill get bad credit which I don't need/want!
All I've received is the balloon that's it!

It was a private hospital angee, nhs Wales have agreed to take on nucleus welsh patients not us from England, royal gwent, st Joseph's are ones in Wales I can remember easily as I've constantly rang them! The balloon was £5000 with nucleus.

=( wish I just knew direct what to do, administrators have said they're not obliged to do anything for me as welsh paitents are now sorted and England nhs won't do sod all! X

It cannot be any consolation to you but nucleus did other medical treatments than the spatz balloon possibly taken on by the royal gwent but that hospital does not do wls. also st josephs is a small private hospital that supplies premises for many consultants to do private work. maybe the consultant who did your work uses them. what is his name i can make enquiries for you. i would not know what to do if i was stuck like you but if you think of anything please ask
I recently had a gastroscopy in the royal gwent and noticed that the consultant was involved with the spatz balloon. that would of course be privately. i wonder what the deal was between your consultant and nucleus and if he/she now has any obligation

Was wondering if spatz themselves could help you. They have a website www.spatzmedical.com
Just inconceivable that you should be left with a balloon which should only be left in for 12 months without any help

Update; finance company are cancelling agreement and refunding me the £600 I've paid so far!!! Just hope credit card people give me some back! =)

well thats one bit of good news. The other Surely is that the NHS are obligated to treat you regardless if you had it done privately or even abroad and something went wrong then they have a duty of care to you as someone has to take it out at the end of 12 months? I would get in touch with your local councilor or mp failing that go public if you arn't scared too.

Only for emergencies or through A&E. they will remove a balloon, but won't replace it.

phew wonder if any of those other hospitals would take pity then and take your case on at a much reduced cost perhaps. seems awfully expensive for a balloon fill yikes I wish you luck in finding a solution

That is a reduced rate! It's usually £1700 for a fill, £1900 for removal x
