Only just found this thread but want to say thanks to Future Perfect for taking the trouble to list everyone's op dates and where (if known).

Which hospital in Guildford are you having your surgery at?

Your op is the same day as mine so good luck for our shared day!

Hi Witchingmoon, it's at Guilford
Nuffield and yes private, I guess I just thought I may have shared the same day with someone else there but can't find anyone! It's being done by Guy Slater and I've heard people have had him before so that's not so bad I guess!

Tatiana I'm glad we share the same date! Are u on the Pre op diet? How are u getting on? X x

I have heard of Guy Slater. You will probably meet other in there who haven't found the forums yet.

Hi Clare,

Started pre-op diet on December 1st and getting on ok with it just struggling to eat enough calories every day - monday only had 700!

How are you getting on?

I'm having my surgery at St Peters Hospital in Chertsey so not really very far from Guildford!

I live in Basingstoke.... Have you been to any support groups?

I'm guessing there are different Pre op diets? Mine is 4 pints of milk and 2 pints fluid and one oxo drink each day, no food! Only 8 more days to go!

Not far from me then I'm in Farnborough. I go to a support group in Surrey on the first Saturday of the month.
The milk diet is used at my hospital. Though I am on a low carb one to help my iron.
I should be coming home from my op when you two go in. How long have you got to stay in? x

I go in on Friday 16th and they say you're in 2-3 days depending on recovery...

Milk diet isn't too bad apart from being bunged up! Awful....

How are u both doing emotionally? I keep getting teary and having "am I doing the right thing" wobbles... X x

Hi Clare,

I'm a bit further up the M3 at Walton.

My hospital has 4 diet choices
- 5 pints semi/skimmed milk
- 2 pints milk and 4 pots low fat yoghurt
- 4 pots yoghurt, 4 cans low cal/low fat soup and 200mls milk
- low fat, low cal food option about 1200 cals/day.

Have to have stock cube or bovril and 2 liters to drink a day.

Am getting on well with it,

I am not bunged up on mine its the other way lol.
I am finding I am getting more worried but pre op tomorrow so can ask a few things to clam me down. I think the wobbles are normal x

Am finding the diet ok as you can swap options each day so there is variety.

Am also finding myself bunged up realised today I'd not been since the weekend!

Not finding myself emotional really but major struggle sleeping this week, only getting about 4 hours a night then looking after niece every day for sister!
