PC Problems

This isn't site related but maybe someone will know what the problem is or what to do. On my computer I am unable to do any online shopping or banking!!! This sometimes no bad thing but on other occasions it is a real pain in the a$$$$.

let me explain. Take online banking. I can get the home page for halifax bank but when I click on the icon for 'log on' the next page says 'this page cannot be displayed'.

The same happens with tesco. I can do the order, select the delivery time etc but when it goes to the pay part the same 'this page cannot be displayed' comes up. Same on ebay. Same on my choice catalogue site. I can get the home page, browse, order and purchase but cannot pay or confirm a transaction. I have to to work to do it or a mate's place!

What am I doing wrong? Does it make sense to anyone? Pleaaaaaaaaseeee! Help me fix it!!!!! Much love to all you techie peeps - Santa will be very good to you if you can help me!!!!

Sounds like you have a firewall on your PC that is being over secure, have you got something like Norton installed per chance ?

hiya, i took what you posted above out of the post, as I dont want it hanging on this site, Anyhow it looks like some sort of spyware/adware that wont let you look at the site.

Can you do the following for me?

1. Download Hijackthis from http://merijn.org/files/HijackThis.exe.

2. Save it to a folder ie: C:\Hijackthis and then run it.

3. Click "Do a system scan and save a logfile."

4. Notepad will then open. Copy the log and post it to here.

With the first information stating the version of the program thats making the log file.
