Hi everyone
I am 4 weeks post op (band) and am about to move from sloppie foods to normal foods. I know i still cant have bread , meat or chicken but i wondered if i can have quorn pieces so that i can make things like sweet and sour and curry.

WHy can't you have chicken? I can have chicken now at 5 weeks post op. I have to chew it like all foods. I can have meat but have decided to stay off it. I have had quite a bit of quorn and to be honest it is the same as chicken in terms of chewing and going down. If your provider has told you not to have chicken or meat you may need to check to make sure you can have quorn.

I am using Quorn alot as it is actually a vegetable and you can eat as much as you want. Which isn't much with band!! lol.

Thanks for info soontobethinsue. I had my band done with WGA and the info they gave me was no meat, chicken, bread or rice for 3 months, so that is what i have been doing. Just thought i could make something different with quorn that my OH would eat as well. Having my first band fill next wednesday so i will ask then. x

Hello
i had my band done at wga and i eat chicken pasta and rice but had my second band fill on sat and have 7mil now so not sure if i will tolarate it now the band is tigher..

its red meats that cause the problems with most banders, chicken is ok as long as you take your time and chew well, ive never had quorn since banding as its like chewing old wellington boots lol
