Hi how many weeks till your allowed salad?

I was told 6months, but have been having little bits since I was on normal food, but not had salad as a meal xx

Salad has very little nutritional value. You need to eat a large volume of it to be any good. I was advised not to bother. x

I have been eating little bits of cucumber, grilled tomatoes, some spring onion and beetroot with no problem for about 2/3 weeks, I am now 10 weeks post op. But only to add to the variety in my meals as Marie W is correct in saying it has little nutritional value especially for someone who has had wls. Maybe in a few weeks if you fancy a little bit just try some. If you eat it with fish, chicken, cheese then you are getting your protein plus some variety and different texture.

Well I had a beautiful seafood salad this weekend with absolutely no problems. I ate all the prawns, crab & tuna first but still managed to eat some of the salad which I have missed quite a lot. It was yummy :) xx
