Sip, sip, sipping...

Nope, you can sip away to your heart's content :)

I no longer need to sip - thankfully!

Hi had bypass Friday. I keep sipping but it's kind of uncomfortable. I have only managed to eat 3 times also although going to try for 4 today. I need this to get easier!

Good luck! First few weeks are hardest but they are soon forgotten and any advice we are all here for you!

I was told to sip, wait 5 mins then sip again, by my surgeon. I find siping straight after a sip makes me fe full and bloated. I was told 6 weeks down the line you don't need to sip after that, is that true?? thank god this op weren't done in the summer I'm dying to gulp a nice glass of water..lol

Xx

Glad I'm not the only one, started to panic that I wouldn't be able to get enough fluids in. Although, at a week post op now, its already a bit easier, and I got in 2 litres of water, plus 700mls of other fluids, plus 2 meals in yesterday. I figured we will be still really swollen, which can't help.

I find it easier to sip warmer liquids - had some water late last night and it was cold and I had a tummy ache.

I'm scared to sip to much or I'm thinking '**** was that a bit of a gulp' I don't think it was but I'm the worst worryer EVER..lol

If I have to be honest with you I'm struggling to drink 400mls over two days, I'm eating 2 soups for lunch and dinner, I have a complain or build up shake for breakfast, I have oval tine and horlcks with milk mid morn and mid pm, and a thin yogurt an hour after both soups, I'm just struggling with the water as I can mange it all. I spoke o the dietician yesterday and he said its pretty normal to struggle just keep trying. I have to say if I have a fruit tea it goes down sooo much easier than water or NAS squash.

It's mad tho guys, I used to be a 4 teaspoon of sugar kinda gal in my hot drinks, I've gone to none including no sweetener, I was well impressed I would have never drunk a hot drink with anything less..lol mad eh??

Maz x

I'm the same with fluids, really struggle to get them down, no way I'm getting anything like the two litres I'm supposed to get, maybe a litre max made up of sugar free squash and tea and coffee through the day. I feel dry and I know my pee isn't pale enough but I don't seem to be able to up my fluids accordingly, it's uncomfortable and I'm four and a bit weeks post surgery x

I daren't try a hot drink. I normally only drink black coffee and don't fancy it at all. I just keep sipping my water. I need to invest in a digital watch so I know 30mins before and after x

I'm the same, fluids HAVE to be hot or warm. That way I'm getting in my 2 litres, I'm used to drinking more - but think that would be a huge challenge! I tried a glass of cold water this evening and it just hurt.
Its funny because I have only ever used to had 1 or 2 hot drinks in a day.
