Smelly Breath!!

A friend of mine has just told me I have smelly breath, gutted or what! I am 3 weeks post op (bypass), anybody got any tips.

You could be in ketosis which happens sometimes in the early days post-op. Not much you can do about it but try upping your water. Sometimes dehydration can cause smelly breathe because your mouth becomes dry and the bacteria increases. Also try brushing your teeth after each meal which doesn't make the dryness go but does reduce the bacteria that causes bad breath.

you will always have bad breath until you go onto a normal diet, so while on liquids and alike you will. I get it occasionally when i am being strict on myself etc if i havnt exercised etc but as soon as you eat normal it clears.

Funny enough my partner told me my breath was smelling today and I am post op (sleeve) and on liquids and hadn't thought about keytosis, so thanks for answering my question too x Roll on solid food lol
