All the best - MeJulie xx

sorry to hear, hope they arent causing you too much discomfort :( Take care of yourself

i went in for bypass on monday and was handed a container of about 12 bead sized stones and one the size of a marble ! i was gobsmacked, luckily they hadnt caused me any distress, that I can put down to them anyway

Hi Mandi

What are they planning to do for you?

Your gall bladder can become inflamed with or without gall stones....either way they are so painful so I hope they are planning to whip yours out soon.

(((hugs)))

What are the symptoms for gall stones, and what is the treatment?

Elffie - did you know you had gallstones before your op?

Thanks, x

Hi, Mandy,
Is it a cramp-like pain? Almost like a contraction?

hadnt a clue so I guess i was lucky. Its just my surgeons policy to take out the gall bladder if he can get to it. Thankfully he got his 'gloved' grubby hands on it. He takes them out as he said that he has had a few patients in the earlier days coming back with stones, so now he does it as standard if he can. If not he prescribes medicine, i think to reduce the chance of getting them.

I thought I was having a heart attack when my gallstones first acted up...went through hell trying to find out what was wrong with me. Was so happy to have my gallbladder removed.

Same as me emma louise81, I couldnt hardly breathe due to the pain, thank goodness for gas and air and morphine.....................

This is just how I felt. The first time, I really thought I was having a heart attack. It literally took my breath away and I couldn't move. I had to deep breathe, very slowly until the pain subsided. Does that sound familiar to you? Not sure if I've got them, or not.
Thanks:confused::confused::confused:

I couldnt breathe deep when I had em. And it was only until I had the morphine I was able to breathe properly at all............Thank heavens for small mercys eh. The hosp was gr8 with me ...........couldnt fault them at all and they moved real quick to get to the route of the problem...............

im fairly lucky i think. my mum had very bad pain and they left hers so long her gb burst and nearly killed her.

The hospital was rubbish with me...went to A&E 3 times and just got sent home, even when I found out I had gallstones (after going privately) they still did not give me medication. Took me to go to the emergency Dr very early one morning inagony and ask for something!
