I've had such a problem with constipation since the op..

have tried senna, senokot and gone to step 2.. sorry for the tmi moment.. but putting a little vaseline just inside.. helps it out.. pity it hurts so much to get it out in the first place.. :-\

am tempted to ask gp for some lactulose or anything that is meant to help.. other problem I have - is the 'no drinking before a meal' etc.. wokred it out that for 4 hours a day - I cant drink anything.. so how am I meant to keep my fluids up.. have a hard time to get fluids in as it is.. unless its soup, cup-a-soup or my hot choc..

at this early stage you get a lot of your fluids from your foods so dont worry too much.

ROFL emma thats the worst of it over now you will be able to control the constipation much better, the pain meds you were given will have had codiene in them and this can easily cause constipation.

I can only ever go if I take a laxative (dulcolax is the only one that works for me). I had never been a regular goer before the band 2-3 times a week at best. Since having the band the longest I've let myself not 'go' for is 12 days, then I have to give in and take a laxative!!! I have increased my fluid intake and have bought other over the counter help like 'benefibre' and natural senna, I even take lactulose 4 times a day, but I still need the help of dulcolax!!!
