finding my way again !
Just popped on scales , which I hadn't for about 9 days & I have lost 7lbs , gotta start scoffing again ,so had fried egg on toast for brekkie , Yum !

why are you unimpressed?lol

Because I had to put half stone on to get bmi 50 for a referal , which I did . But I havnt seen a consultant yet so need to keep the weight on . Plus I got a letter yesterday saying I needed to make an appointment to assist with referal forms , a week after he said he was doing them , so the referal hasn't even gone in yet grrr

isn't it bloody ridiculous! to have to maintain a bmi of 50 is just nhs gone mad! x

Well I don't know how to answer this one, sugar ... it defies logic. I thought that if your BMI was 50 when you first visited your doctor for a referral, that was the benchmark, & you have done that. Didn't realise you had to keep it up :mad::mad: On the positive side your body is obviously not happy being BMI 50 so should be easy to shed those lbs once your referral has been sent. Good luck, babe xxx :D:D

Thanks twinkle ( sorry don't know your name & signatures don't show on my phone ) I don't know if it makes a difference if my bmi has dropped by time I see consultant but I would be gutted if he said no if it has dropped , so maintain is the plan for now xxx

Now look here !! I will come cook for you for a week that will bring you back up :8855:
If i was not on this diet we would go for a cream tea and stuff ourselves !
I agree its so stupid to have to do this but if it gets the end result

Hi Cheryl, my name is Denise but don't mind being Twinkle as this is what my hubby calls me (on a good day, lol) xxx

Could you put some lead weights in your knickers on weigh day?

Lol , love your train of thought , I might have to investigate that hehe

whatever you do, dont bend your legs when they do your height :D

Haha yea , the shorter the higher the bmi , I've already told Dr I was an inch shorter than he had on record

Really strange - My BMI wasn't 50 and I got a referral. :wave_cry: Sorry to hear this, it is really silly.

Different PCT's Neeta , but i will ask when I see my GP this week

I understand now :)

My hospital go on referall BMI. Then they like you to lose as much weight as possible to make the op safer (thats what my weight management physician said anyway....time will tell if he has stitched me up lol)

I was seriously considering if i could get away with weights stuffed in bra. My BMI was 48.8 and was told they wouldn't touch you if you were under 50. So I was stuffing my face (not difficult) with rubbish to up it before my 1st appointment. I was checking every couple of days, and depending on which site you go on it's different so stuck with the nhs one. Got to what I thought was 50.4, but when I got there they measured me an inch shorter than I thought I was, although I couldn't stand up straight because of back problems, and i came in at 52.3, just shows what an inch can do!

Got to go see my GP this afternoon to fill the forms , grrr I thought they had gone off a week Friday gone ! Anyway I will ask him if he knows , like you say easy to stuff your face for a few pounds once I have an appointment :)

Good luck hun xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
