i went to my gp ,it took me 4 months to build up courage to ask and then make my husband go with me for (i am serious about this dont dismiss me affect i tend to get at the drs ) and i had been considering a band /bypass as a solution to my wait gainfor about 18 months before i went to my gp
my history is

car crash 11 years ago , severe pain which to finally manage the pain and now work for myself (after 8 years on sick) i have to be very selective with physical activites , no lifting ,no straining no vibrations ok to walk on flat but every other activity puts me in bed
decided 5 yrs 9 mths ago we wanted a baby went cold turkey with pain meds conceived first try( super fertile ) so i could cope spent most of pregnancy in bed
matthew arrived
had a denervation procedure on my neck a few months after having matthew and it helped get me more active and less pain (Professor Richardson Chronic pain management godsend gave me a life back )
started my embroidery business from home arround the kids and pain
decided to try for sara- jayne took 2 attempts to conceive .
also i have a teenage boy who would die of shame if i was to name him
also i have overeaten but even when i diet and stick to it 100% no cheating i couldnt loose weight some days i bet i dont walk half a mile around the house while i am working
so i was desperate to
1 make sure i dont get any bigger and get out of the risk bracket for hear attack and cancer
2 loose some weight and feel better about my self

history finished back to drs
i told her i was out of control binge eating at night ok or nothing in day ,
she knows all my family illness history
she said i was 40.3 body mass thingy
but she had refered some one else bigger than me who was refused and thought it was a waist of time as she new they would say no

no ofer to send me to a dietician or a controlled physio excercise class(neck) or any thing
i was distraught i had built it up as my only answer

hubby to the rescue we are in a fixed mortgage till 30 june and up for review he said we should get the 10,000 on the mortgage if they would give it us
so here we are now waiting on my mortgage decision

back to your question on nhs referals in lancashire if other peoples drs are as unhelpfull as mine its no wonder not many are done arround here.

i just had another thought if they say no to the morgage
i can sell my husband he has taken over most of the housework after my crash so he would make a great maid ,laid back easy going and good looking any offers lady's
i might have a bypass operation to fund

Yep everything done, bloods, urine tests etc they are just arranging to send me for a sleep apnea test its just a matter of waiting and if possible continue to try and loose some weight until my date comes through. I have not received a letter from my PCT regarding funding but at my GP appointment last week he said it was all sorted.

i looked at ashton ,leigh and wigan last night to be honest i concidered that my self , it just says nice guidelines which i believe are body mass 40 plus and 6months hospital referal.
i might go back to the gps and ask to be refered

but i find that because i am softly spoken people just ignore me husbands kids ,drs (and unless i throw a wobbler i get blankedand if i blew with any one other than family its not going to get me any ware )

GM - i guess only time will tell.

Sewingbelle56 - good luck with your remortgage but its a lot of money and i would just have that fact at the back of my mind and go back to your DR and push for NHS funding.

its easier said than done i will get all built up in my mind and close to tears , and the only way i can manage to talk with out crying is in a stern mater of fact way and people take it i am being stroppy when i am only tring to stand my ground and say the words .
and if i just cry and talk the other option they are worse and dismiss me as aloon
ive found that if i take my husband in with me at least the dr listens more and i tend to say more
dont get me wrong i am not a mouse it is if something is really important to me i just get emotional
but if my husband thinks he could save the 10 grand he will go in with me and give it a go
but hes not spending any thing we have left its mine.... not ours this time
i wish
ps i have no problem shouting at kids and husbands especially once a month
