you know something.. I know many people who are exctly as Liz has said.. stare at you as if you have 2 heads because you mention wls..
I've told exactly 7 people.. obviously my OH, my mum, my aunt, my older brother, my eldest daughter and 2 best friends. they dont judge me, they have seen where I've been before I got to this point (which right now is very sore, achy and sleepy) and they have all helped me in their own way to get through this.. and 2moro is the first proper day on my new journey to becoming Me again..
so sod the ignorants, they're no better than anyone on this earth and only 1 person has judgement over everyone.. our maker so what if we 'tweak' what we were given.. as women (no offence blokes) its our perogative to change our minds.. lol...

hey mands, welcome back, how did surgery go, sore achy/ sleepy is normal at this point, keep ya chin up mand each day does get better, i promise.

I go back to work next week and I am dreading these situations where people think they have a right to ask such personal questions, so I dont think I will bother to tell them, lol.
I have also been asked if I have cancer, by someone prying...maybe this is the side of wls i wasnt prepared for.

When i meet people i've not seen since pre op they cant believe the difference, and always ask how i've lost the weight - me being me i wont talk about my WLS, but i'm finding it harder and harder to blag, and especially so when its a friend or someone who has a weight problem themselves, as most people know its extremely difficult to lose 10 stone in such a short space of time using conventional methods ! as a consequence i've found myself avoiding these situations - mad isn't it, i shouldn't give a damn really what they think, but i do !

I was just thinking today about how I've really told no one about my surgery (husband and one other friend). I'm choosing not to tell my family yet - and it's really because I'm afraid of failure. Does that make sense to anyone? I've tried so many diets and yo-yoed up and down for so many years that I'm scared to death that this won't work either. Scared to death. So keep on sharing everyone - makes me have hope!

Yes i am the same..........and also fear of wot people would think......i only told my oh and my daughter and 3 close friends and thats it .....but the close friends 2 have had bands and one is having the ds...so they understand me ...........(i hope)

I have decided not to tell anyone after I had it done to avoid all the comments and looks etc. I get enough of that now while I'm big. Only 2 people know, my hubby and my mum as I will need help after.

How do you keep it a secret from your employers though?
If I get the operation I don't want my colleagues or my employers to know...Unfortunately I can't take my holidays at short notice.
If your operation is seen as an elective surgery, how do you get away without telling them?
I wouldn't want anyone to be judgemental where I work...all women so I know how a couple of them will re=act.

Hi Everybody
People being people are nosey . I just told my family just in case any thing happens to me . And I`v told a few other people . The rest of them can think what they like . The is one thing about people if your thin or fat they will look and talk about you so what the hell if their talking about me they are leaving some one else alone . Good luck and take care .
