I usually make a bit of soup and put the potato in it and eventually it will disintgrate into the soup. or as you say just mash the potato and add a bit more milk, I use a bit of soft cheese in it first so it melts, you can get an ultra light version to avoid the fat content, or later get a flavoured one with chives for instance. xx

I bough a tin of smash ready but have not used it as I am not that keen on the taste. I am sure Tesco or ASDA does some ready made made in the ready meal section.

I never buy ready mash but I'm told that frozen mash is really nice especially Aunt Bessies.

This is all great advice thanks everyone. I realised I have researched the procedure and everything else so much but now its here the praticalities of the first few weeks has sort of hit me in the face, so I'm sure there will be lots more questions x

week 7 - 42lb
week 8 - 45lb
week 9 - 49lb
week 10 - Went on holiday!
week 11 - maintained
week 12 - 56lb!!

hi had my bypass a week today been on liquids, water, lemon sugar free squash, sugar free jelly, and skimmed milk, but finding it difficult while everyone around me is enjoying real food and its there when i open the fridge does anyone have any other options on the liquid diet that are not bland and have flavour to them ??
