Abbey Sefton Liverpool

Hi All,

I was going through the NHS route to get the gastric band but have decided that i cannot wait 12-24 months before even being put on the list, which i was informed by specialist weight management team.

I am looking at going to BMI Abbey Sefton in Liverpool, has anybody had theirs done here?? Any feedback would be great! Its such a difficult decision to make on where to go

When i phoned them they were fab gave me lots of into over the phone and also sent me out a very indepth workbook of all that will happen from pre op diet to post op etc, i will also be attending an open day with them on the 12th Feb.

Im just so nervous i want to pick the right place.

Sorry - we aren't ignoring you. I didnt reply when I first read as I've no knowledge of BMI or the hospital and I dont remember if any other banders have been there either.

I would recommend researching the surgeons, checking out any success stories on their website etc.

Your right it is a tough choice but a hospital near by has got to put them near the top of the please, right?

hi hun i was going to choose that hospital but got funding nhs last min they do offer 3 yrs after care with unlimited fills which i thought was good let me know how it goes x

Thanks Ladies! I have looked into lots of places and seen some good reviews about Abbey Sefton on another forum.

When looking into where to go i read alot of very good reviews about cosmetic bliss czech republic, but i haven't got the guts to go abroad and do it and my hubby wants to be with me.

I have narrowed it down to 2 which is Abbey Sefton and WLS Group Preston just waiting to go to open day at Abbey then will make my decision.

Im actually going to do this im so scared and i aint even got a date or anything yet.

I went with WLS Group and had my op in Preston! They were very good, I live in the midlands but travelled to get the op cheaper x

I have read a couple of good reviews about Mr Mujahid Khurshid from Preston WLS Group. Was he your surgeon? Would you recommend WLS Group? Is the aftercare good?

Yes and yes. He was sooo nice, really put me at ease and was so caring! He works for a few companies as well as the NHS in the North West so he is very experienced.

The aftercare is great, Wendy and Steve (husband and wife) are lovely and run the clinics up and down the country! x

Good Luck lovey with whoever you decide to go with...its mind boggling isnt it as it is a very big decision to make.
Hope it all goes well for you...the one with the 3 year after care sounds good too xxxx
