You could be in for a bit of a wait!

It sounds like although the surgeon thinks you would be a good candidate, he may not have put a case in for funding yet. Hopefully someone from your area will come along and post with a better idea though x

Hi my GP has sent a referal to Walsall Manor for me to have WLS but it's at the very early stages as it was only last week. I will follow this if you don't mind.
I am currently taking Orlistat and have been since July. I have also taken up exercise so hoping I tick some boxes.

Hi yes that's fine have u started the orlistat yourself or did the doctor start you on it I didn't start mine till I had seen dr hartland at the manor hospital who suggested it I was referred back in July but had a appointment by September so not too long a wait about 6 weeks I think for my first consultation with the manor I have got to see the dietician next week to see how my weight is and if lost any weight so far so fingers crossed x

My GP started me on it when I asked about WLS. He said I needed to have given it a try before a referal could be made. Think it was so I can say I've tried everything.

Thanks for the info about waiting times. Hope you find the tablets useful and get the results you want.

That's good your gp starting u on it as u can tell the specialist u have already tried it and it didn't work for you which will save time waiting to see the dietician next week see if I have lost any weight so far
