Hi i'm having my op soon, but I'm scared I lose too much weight and be unhappy and unable to gain it back on. Has anyone else ha this worry or experience? thanks x

It may be worth having a chat with your surgical team about your worries. I'm sure they will have had other people with the same fears and will now how to put your mind at rest x

Hi. I had / have a similar worry, I've set my target at 29 bmi so i aim to be overweight, rather than in the normal category, which for me is 13 stone. I'll see what i look like / feel like when I get there & decide if i want to loose another 1 or 2 stone but i think I'll be happy at that.
I'm sure many people on here can relate to our 'fat' as a kind of protective barrier & loosing it can be scary, so i totally get where your coming from, especially if like me you've had excess weight for a long time. I'm currently at my lowest weight since I was 17, over 20 years ago. I've lost almost 5 stone & i can see that i look better & all my clothes fit me again & I'm throwing away some of the bigger ones but i dont feel a great deal different in my head, its hard to explain really. I feel better, much better but the same?!?!
WhAt procedure are you thinking of? I had a band, knowing i cAn get it emptied at any point when I want to stop loosing.

The surgeon wants to of bypass because he's not a fan if the band, he will at a push but is trying to steer away from them! I've seen ppl lose so much that they look gaunt and loss their 'glow' I just don't want to be one if those!! I'm petrified if the op too, keep thinking I'm going to die!! Aggrrr it's a worry!! I'm 19.3 now but intend to get another half stone off before 18/7!! I'm 5ft 9, and always been heavy build! I had s flat tummy and wore size 14 clothes when I was 15 stone so to be ten stone I'd look stupid! X

Have you looked into a sleeve or other surgeries?

xx
