hi i have had b12 injections every 12 wks since my bypass my surgeon mr small said they are a must and should be automaticly given to you as a letter should off been sent to your gp telling him/her you need iron tablets and your b12 x x x sarah x
i agree totaly i must be very nieve (sorry about the spelling) i thought no matter where you were you got b12 injections and iron tablets as you do not get enough through your daily food intake even with multi vits x x your doing great with your weight loss x sarah xWe don't get anything as a matter of course, just been told to take multivits and get blood tests every few months. I'm not very happy with the way thing's seem to differ from area to area and srgeon to surgeon, it's not very encorouging don't think to be honest. You would think that by now there would be a set formula?
I haven't been given them at all - just told to take multivitamins.
Well the procedure for my hospital is test every few months and you get them if you need them. I'm not one to rant and rave and keep pestering, I'm a quiet sort really so I just try and go with the flow but after being on this site for some time now I realise how rubbish our service is compared to some other's.
I was the gunea pig for my hospital and there still learning, I know thing's havent improved that much in 9 month's as I know recent bypasser's from same hospital and they get pretty much the same treatment as I got, not total rubbish but very poor.
I'm having my post-op review at my hospital next Tuesday and I will ask then.
Paul are you referring to Russell's Hall or Walsall Manor?
