I'm dead excited! Never thought for one second that hubby would be happy for me to go private and pay for it for me!
Now I am definately full steam ahead!
Off to GP for a chat tomorrow, and will be on the phone to Manchester to make a consultation date!
I will give Surgicare a call and I see he is also a surgeon with Landauer Surgery! Both in Manchester! - Mr Ammori only does his work in Manchester and seems to be working for for everyone based there. He does however work for the NHS.
I will speak to both of them tomorrow!
Couple more questions, Andrea, did you fly down to Manchester on your own, not sure about taking hubby. Also, did you have to be collected after the op, or could you just drive/fly home yourself? Did you go down to Manchester to meet him before the op? Also do you have to go back often to have checkups? What happens if you need some sort of help locally? When I had the op myself, my husband and kids came with me. I went to the hospital and they went to watch Man U play!! You do need someone to drive you home though and you probably couldn't fly. You could make your own way down and then get your family to pick you up when you get discharged. I went down for a consultation because you need to have blood tests done before the op. You could meet him one week and have the op the next though. Because you are private, you are in charge of everything. All my consultations with the dietician etc are done over the telephone or via email cos it just isn't practical.
Are you regretting offering to answer questions yet??? Not at all because you need to find out what its like from someone whose had it done. I did exactly the same thing. I was on this site all the time asking questions.
Thanks Jacquie xxx
