Hi Dave, welcome to bonkers-station... I mean, Mini's!

Thank goodness, another chap to keep Frosty, wannaloose18stone and Silversurfer happy!

You'll find lots of advice & support on here. It's the best place to be pre and post op.

I'm pre-op (bypass) so am about as much use as a chocolate teaspoon with post-op advice, but I chip in with what I know and can, when relevant.

Good luck and speakie soon! :D

Hi Dave. i am still waiting to hear about funding so not much use on that score, loads of great people on here that have had bypass and band surgery so you will gat all the advice you need. good luck and enjoy your stay. Bridie X

Hiya Dave, welcome. Glad you joined us, feel free to flirt as much as you like ;)

I had a bypass about 9 weeks ago, it has been hard, as you'll read on other threads, but i'm now getting to the point where i can start to say it's worth it. I've lost nearly 4 stone already, and am so excited about the future. It's not easy, it's certainly not the easy way out, it's a big comittment, a lifelong one, and a risky surgery, but if you're doing it for the right reasons, then go for it. xx

hi dave dont bother flirting with me your not my type:8855:sorry.
back to this thread you will find you will have a lot of friends on here ask what you want you will always get an answer hope you get your funding bye for now andy

Hi mate, I'm nearly 5 months post op and it's been quite a journey I must say. The results so far are about 9 1/2 stone lost since op and 11 1/2 stone lost in total including pre op diet.

Hello Big D,

Many of us have journels so if you have the odd hour going spare...

I had my bypass 30th Oct and I'm doing fine.

Hi Dave
I am due to have bypass in Jan, awaiting my op date. I have struggled with funding etc but down here in Cornwall the situation is complicated as we have to be referred out of county. What point are you at now? Have you seen a consultant? I think someone already mentioned looking on BOSPA website at your local PCT details.
Good luck with it all

Sxxxxxx

Hi Dave, & :welcome:
It really is a fab place here & I highly recommend all of us for advice, support & friendship!! :character00148:

I would just like to say, feel free to flirt away - my kinda guy :sign0151:

And feel free to jump in at any time with questions, thoughts, ideas (flirts!!) & anything at all. There's always someone around that can help (& we certainly have opinions, eh guys!! Ha!)

I had my RNY bypass at the start of September & have lost 4 & a half sone so far (its slower for us girls ;)). I have to confess, it hasn't all been "wonderful, fabulous, best thing I ever did" ... BUT, in the past couple of weeks, it HAS got better & I'm beginning to think that way after all!

So long as you are armed with the info, are at least 95% sure it is what you want & are happy to do it - go for it. Just rememer, everyone is different, as are the journeys & don't compare yourself to others (particulalrly your weight loss!)

So jump in!
