Hi,

I was just wondering if you can give blood after a bypass, I'm 3 months out and I haven't had any blood tests yet so I don't know if all my levels are correct so I'm assuming I should wait for that first to check my blood is healthy but when I've looked on there website I cant find anything about it!

Your team will tell you when,I was refused as I had a transfusion.

I think you have to wait so many months after an op and you shoul be fine as long as you haven't had a transfusion but you can call them and check, they are open all the time

I'm 90% sure you have to wait 6 months after your op and then if you feel fine and your blood count is good, you should be fine.

Got my 1yr check up in 3weeks plan to check things out re blood donations as I an O rhesus negative so it is much in demand. Hubby, & 2 of my boys are B positive middle son same as me. Major hassle when pregnant especially after miscarriages because if other way round it's fine our way round dangers for me & babies but very in demand otherwise. Gave years ago then had issues that meant I couldn't now I need to be brave again assuming I'm allowed to do so.
Once I've checked will post answer here.
