breakfast cereal

im sat here with a small bowl of cornflakes, im half way through them and they have just made me sick !! does anyone else have difficulty with breakfast especially cereal ?
 
Sorry to hear this Liz, I have not had any sick problems with anything I try.

It is possible that the cereal you are eating swells more once eaten and gives you that slightly stuck feeling. If I do have hard cereals I mix it into my morning yoghurt, a bit like a muller corner then.

It helps it slide a little easier.

I find "micro oats" the easiest.

I hope you feel less icky soon......
 
hi caz maybe your right it probably does swell, im just most shocked as ive never had a problem with cereal with my old band, and this was my 1st attempt with it this time round.
ill give it another go tomorrow morning see if the same happens again, then i will know where i stand with it at this stage.

Also its only a weeks after the fill, that might have a lot to do with it, maybe give it another weeks before you try again...

Last thing you need is too be sick and damage new band....:patback:
 
:)yeah maybe ill go back to my traditional coffee and a fag when my sons gone to school lol
 
Hi Liz, I am sick after breakfast too....spoke with my consultant who told me that in some cases the band is slightly tighter in the morning, so for breakfast, just eat something like a yoghurt until later on...I normally have porridge around 10am (but Im up at 6!)

im glad you wrote this as i am struggling with my rice crispys now and cant decid what to have for breakfast since my last fill i cant eat bread anymore and now cereal is getting uncomfortable

:8855::8855:haha caz no calories in a fag lol, i know i shouldnt smoke but that stops me grazing thro the day, last time i stopped smoking i gained half a stone:eek:
i will have a nice coffee and ciggy in the morning and enjoy it lol:)

Scrambled Eggs and smoked Salmon

Wholemeal Soda bread (no yeast less swelling) with cream cheese.

Cereal bars

Toffee Yoghurt with Banana and cereal.

I even eat savoury things for brekkie now, I had warm soup the other morning.

Very lean sausage with poached egg.

Cooked Mushrooms on a slice of buttered toast.

Cheese on toast.

most of them suggestions are way to dense for me at the moment especially in the mornings, some of them may be ok 4 me as a main meal, but id struggle with them.

When you can do try soda bread, its yummy toasted and breaks down easier than normal bread.

Even untoasted it has less doughiness...

YUM!

(and my surgeon said to avoid bread - thats easier said than done tho really)
 
in the nearly 4 years i been banded i gave up all types of bread as they just cause me pain and discomfort, when i gave bread up completley from my diet the weight just fell off dramatically as i was basically a bread hog had it with all meals, i stopped it in my diet completley that was my weight loss turn around, now and then i have 1 egg on nimble toast with tinned toms and some times i still find that to dense 4 me.
