has anybody ever rang up on the off chance of getting a cancelled surgeon appointment?

No ,never rang for cancellations but i rang today to find out when my op is gonna be and they told me over the phone end of nov early dec whoop whoop .sometimes can be worth ringing the secretary just to make enquiries .good luck xxx

I had a phone call last week about a surgery date - they wanted me to go in this coming saturday! I did ask about the likelihood of cancellations but I think they are few and far between from what she said

The only problem with cancellations is how close to the date they were cancelled because we have to follow a pre-op diet beforehand so that maybe a problem

That's what i thought .... i guess it depends on whether or not your surgeon is happy to work with a large liver in the way
