Am only four days off my op and am unable to sleep! Cleaned the house that many times I could start my own "how clean is your house show"! Am new to this site but thought it would be a good idea??

Hi Bungle and welcome to MM and congrats on having ur surgery in 4 days time. Its most prob nerves and excitement all rolled into one that is stopping u sleeping.
Could you not try something like nytol herbal or calms which are all herbal products and should help you sleep in the next few days.
Looking forward to reading bour ur wls journey and hope u have a speedy pain free recovery xx

thanks for that. Think you're right it is just a mix of all sorts. Not gonna take anything though, think I will be having enough in four days, courtesy of Leeds!

Hi Bungle
yes I agree, its probably nerves and excitement and you do get a buzz from not having much carbs in your diet too. I did the milk diet before my bypass and at first I was hungry and tired but towards the end I was like you and the night before my operation I never went to sleep.
Try some warm milk or herbal sleep tablets.

Good luck with your operation and look forward to seeing you on the losing side soon :)

hi bungle wellcome and good luck with your op. if you get fed up of cleaning your house ill give you directions to mine lol. i hope you have a speedy and pain free recovery.......kath x

I was nuts, excited, scared, anxious, crazy...all those things the week before my WLS. I even locked myself out of my apartment twice. It's very common to feel this way and/or have trouble sleeping.

I read a lot and watched TV when I was up all night. Cleaning is prob. a great release.

Hello & welcom to MM.......Good luck in your weight loss journey,

congratulations on your op and welcome to minis'. I couldnt sleep the weeke before my op, think it was nerves/excitement/change in diet. tbh i didnt worry about it too much, and just chilled and slept after the op.
good luck and keep posting xx
