Hi it seems that we are all on different foods. I was only allowed liquids until after 3 weeks and then i could start puree foods. We were told it was because of the healing process inside but it feels like different surgeons give differnet advice. Sounds like you are doing ok but hopefully someone will be along soon to post.

Thankyou Magsy for your reply, it does seem different to where you had yor op.. my advise sheets say liquids for first ten days, then pured until week five, then soft foods until week 12, then normal foods.
Where did you have your op... i had mine at Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith xx

I can't see any calcium tablets or iron tablets in there

the tablets im taking are all the tabs which were given to me by the hospital, so i wont now if i need to take any more tabs until i have my follow up appointment on 24th feb x

I wasn't told by the hospital to take any tablets apart from A-Z.
Now I am vit D deficient (you get this in the calcium tabs) and my iron is low.
Please make sure you get both of these soon. You can get them cheaper from a supermarket than you will pay for a prescription

Wendy i will wait to see what the doctor says as i cant tolerate too many tablets..im drinking enough milk and having yogurts at the moment so calcium shouldnt be a problem... i think i will give the hospital a ring in the week and see what they say... xx

I was told the same as you - but we dont have the same surgeon, I cant see anyone on here who has had my one - strange huh?

i have spoken to lots of people now and they all seem to be taking different things.. so i think i will stick with the tabs i have and when i have my check up i will bring it all to there attention and find out if i should be taking something else etc.. thankyou for your replies though x

I was told to take Lansaprazole 30-60 mins before food. I wonder if you are having breakfast too soon after taking it? Also not sure whether it will have an impact on your antibiotics taking them together?

It's hard work isn't it, juggling all the drugs around! Sounds like you have a pretty good timetable worked out otherwise:)

Have you checked out that the your mini-pill wont be affected and made less safe by your reduced absorbtion?

i take the tablets then have my fromais frais about 15 minutes after... when i go back to work it will be easier as i will have my tabs at 7.15am then have my breakfast when i get into work at 8. My pill is soley to stop my periods ... as for the antibiotics today is my last day on them and the infection has cleared already, i just needed to finish off the course as advised. i was told i can take all four antibiotcs at once if i wanted, but that is too much, so i have two in the morning and two at lunch time. xx

Deffo make sure you get calcium with vit d added when you go back. Most are on it for life with Forceval. The difference from one doc to another is a bit scary!

I'm 3 and a half weeks post op now and I am struggling with taking my meds and having enough fluids.

7am Half a weetabix and ss milk

9am Calci tab and vit D plus my iron medicine which is really getting to me. I also try and take my Lansoprazolewhich literally makes me gag, I hate it.

10am Milky coffee with a spoonful of marvel

12 noon Usually about a 1/3 tin of ww soup or I might try a soft scrambled egg with some grated cheese or baked beans mashed.

3pm 4 Meltz crackers with pate or laughing cow spread. Plus I take my Forceval which I hate too, but at least I am now managing to swallow it now rather than snipping the end and taking with yoghurt.

5pm Shepherds pie and carrots and gravy or maybe some mash and cheese.

6pm Calci tab and iron medicine

8pm Half a muller light or some more meltz crackers.

9.30pm Cadbury Highlight

I am only managing about a pint of water during the day and I know this is not enough but I just cant seem to get any more down at the moment.

Jen, im with you on the water thing.. i had a cup of tea today and probably about half a 500ml bottle of water... that is about all i can do fluid wise.
Were you told what meds to take by your specialist/clinic / hospital?
