Experience of Clinics in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Surrounding Areas

Hi Ladies and gents, I'm just doing a bit of research on the clinics local to me. So if you have an experience good or bad of clinics or surgeons in the Glasgow/Edinburgh and surrounding areas please cud you fill me in!!

I used Spire Healthcare in Edinburgh, and had a sleeve in Dec 2011. Excellent service, and care. Amazing support available 24:7 via mobile phone direct to the nurse specialist. I would heartily recommend them.

Thanks Crackers, I've just been through all the glasgow centres online and narrowed it down to 3, so Edinburgh is next up!! xx

I also had my surgery at Spire in Edinburgh and so far can't fault them. Had surgery on 19 December 2012, got out on 22 December and was told I could call the weight loss nurse any time of day even on Christmas Day. I do think Spire is expensive but I have one years worth of check ups and if anything goes wrong I will go back in at no cost. I have follow ups with the weight loss nurse, dietician and psychologist to make sure I'm on track. Hope this helps.

Hi Purple-rain, I also researched both Glasgow and Edinburgh. I chose Rosshall because I liked Mr Stuart the surgeon, I lived quite close and it was £1000.00 cheaper.

I was so very tempted to go to Spire in Edinburgh because the specialist nurse and the dietician are exceptional individuals.

I had my op in August 2012 and I am doing ok.....nothing as good as what I expected. I also experienced serious complications (no fault of my own) and I was sent to NHS hospital as surgeon was on holiday! It then took them over 2 months to take me in to Rosshall to fix a stricture that I knew was making me ill.

If I had my choice to make again I would chose Spire in Edinburgh.....without a doubt.

They are very nice in Rosshall but I feel they talk a good game and when the chips are down the support is superficial.

Only my opinion and I know others who have had a good experience at Rosshall. I wish you all the best whatever you chose.
