extreme slimmers on ITV1

Does anyone know if this show is reapeated any day after Saturday as I dont get home until then and would love to have seen it?

Thanks

Jenk

I thought it was a very interesting programme - showed wls as a positive move although seeing all that loose skin got me worried how I would look after my wls and I confided in my husband that I thought it might be a turn off for him with all that flabby skin hanging round my ankles!!! Thought Colin has done fantastically losing 45 stone! Looks a completely different person.

I watched the programme & was very impressed with it, well put together & didn't do the 'miracle cure-all' like most programmes do. I was particularly interested in the lady that got pregnant (fingers crossed for me too!!) but concerned when she said that she had to have twice the amount of calories - is this true?

Anyone out there that had/having a baby post-op?!

you should be able to watch it on line any time through the itv player on itv.com

got really depressed watching this although the weightloss fab the excess skin wasnt and i know as a single parent on benifits im never gona have the money for removal privatly

I couldnt afford it either, thats why i am hoping i wont be too bad :(

I think along the way, people are losing the fact that yes, saggy, unsightly skin BUT the health & everyday benefits by far outweigh this in my opinion! I already have the 'bingo wings' &, as my size hasn't changed on the bottom half, I assume it's all sunk to there!! But I don't care I am billion times better in myself from health, moods & overall life.

Great programme. It wasn't portrayed in freak show stylee.

On a slightly different tack, I noticed that another section of this forum had posted about it. Have a look here . Caution! Losers especially, should sit on their hands or back away from the keyboard.

when i think about the pros and cons - if i have lose skin then i will be paranoid about certain areas of my body but in all honesty, they're the areas i'm already paranoid about now cos they're fat and ugly, after surgery they'll just be ugly lol.

So the way i see it, i'll be healthier and at worst still paranoid about those areas and maybe in time i can get them sorted

I may be being naiive, but at least excess skin does shorten ur lifespan x x x

So i am guessing that people think having WLS is the easy option??

agree 100% that my health has greatly improved as has my confidence and self esteem. whilst the excess skin is not noticable to others i am aware it is there and figure with all my hard work to lose my weight why not feel happy about me and if that means tackling the excess skin then that is what i will do!

Good, i cant believe overweight people are putting other overweight people down.

Thats so irritating.

hi tammy. i was 30 when i had wls im coming up 35 this year, i was told that i had been over weight to many years and that my skin had lost its elasticity and no amount of exercise would put the loose skin right, it would only tone the muscles under the loose skin and fat, i had a tum tuck 2 years ago for this problem an i now need further surgery for other parts of my body that has gone slack. i hope for you exercise can sort your problem, if not id look to talking to a plastic surgeon and get his honest opinion.

good luck

Thanks Liz, that is what i plan to do i don't think the excess skin will get better and will be approaching my GP soon to see what my options are. how have things been for you after tummy tuck? what other surgery do you feel you need? thanks again hun x

things have been ok after my t/t, im all healed now, i see the plastic surgeon again in march to see about matching the top part of my tum to the t/t, basically the bit that used to be my spare tyre as thats all slack and looks odd with the t/t.
i need my bingo wings done and maybe a boob lift but im not sure if the nhs will do them 2 ops for me, ill have to ask.

It must be great to go into a doctor and say ive lost all this weight and need a skin lift or tummy tuck!! I will look forward to that. Im s jealous of you both. With hard work I mu=ight be joining you in a couple of years. Heres hoping x

It annoyed me when the presenter of ITV started of by saying here is a programme for people that dont have the will power!!!!!!!!!!!!!! argggghhhhhh

I've given up on my fight for the funding for my op, I'm booked in private next week and am already planning in my head that i'm gonna kick arse for funding should i need help with the skin.

Cos we had to pay ourselves ther's no way i could afford that too, so i'm thinking slightly ahead do you think, lol

I'm in the same boat as you and quite agree! Mind you I am going to the gym as soon as is humanly possible and getting a programme drawn up to concentrate on boobs, under arms, tum and inner thighs!!!
