I waited up to hear what the newspapers said last night on Sky News and it wasn't a negative debate... there was a lot of understanding and the fact that the surgery saves the NHS in the long run....
the same on BBC Breakfast news... Shaw Somers gave it his best and spoke up for us all...

Please, please, please, try and keep going and there are is a lot of support for us out there despite the negativity we have felt...

It'a ll wls news today because someone has published new figures on it today..hopefully by tomorrow it'll all be over and the proverbial "chip paper".

well it does detract from the MP expenses scandal i suppose!!! I wonder how many operations etc could have been paid for instead of duck pond's and porn films!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me so angry when they casually say surgery should always be a last resort? Do they think when you are fat your brain stops working and if i was on the salary these condisending apes are on I would pay for my own gastric bypass - hang on I have actually worked for 40 years paid my dues so technically I have not having my op for free...... I wonder if I had my op and put it through company expenses they would authorise it - Nah forgot I don't work for the House of Commons. I am just ahard working fat middle aged lady who should make better food choices - well thank God for a Labour goverment I never thought of that!

pleasantly surprised

I'm very pleasantly surprised at the positive and balanced view in these articles.

And I'm also extraordinarily grateful for being able to have my surgery funded by the NHS....
..........and I'm praying that this current wave of media hysteria + our new government's drive to cut costs across the board (short-term thinking) doesn't jepoardize those still waiting.

I hope these comments in the media don't stop the surgery there are so many people's lives been changed and as someone said earlier we pay our taxes so we are not getting it for free, I have my pre-op appt on 9th fingers crossed x
