I,m coming toward the end of my liquid phase post gastric bypass and am wondering what blended foods i should try first.
Just wandered what you guys tried and what was good and what was difficult to get down?

I am coming to the end of my Fluid Diet, and my diet sheet recommend for the next stage

Pureed Mash
Pureed Fish
Pureed Veg
etc etc

My dietician told me to bland anything to pureed he said even a chicken dinner just add stock to it.
I am suppost to be on pureed but have to say I am doing more like fork mashed (wrong I know) I am gonna try the pureed more, I am making hot pot for tea and will blend mine down.

fish finger with mashed potatoe and white sauce was my favourite, or try a fish pie, heinz spaghetti with fish was good, basically anything you can mush up.
Eat slowly, use a tea spoon and if you feel any sort of pain stop at that point, remember your pouch is the size of a golf ball right now, so a large mouthful of food will fill it up !
supprisingly the hardest part of this for me was being able to actually push food away, mentally all my life i'd been programmed to finish or eat what i had in front of me.

I have made a corned beef hot pot with carrots, potatoes and onions and 2 oxo cubes, all in the slow cooker, kids have just had theirs and polished their plates (so I am safe to eat some lol) I will blend my portion down after I have dished hubbys out.
I have made enough for around 20 people !!! will i ever learn. Its because my slow cooker is so big i feel i need to fill it !!! so I will freeze some small portions and they will do for quite a few days x

Cottage Pie
Mash with mushy peas
Mash with bisto cheese sauce
Fish in parsley sauce
banana and custard
jelly
icecream
meatballs and mash
beans and hotdogs
carrot and swede mash
mince meat with bolognaise sauce with cheese sprinkles
mash potato with gravy
Curry sauce !!!
sweet potatoe mash
blended lasagne (might taste horrid ??)
spaghetti hoops
anything blended (except pizza or kfc lol)
x

Sweet Potatoe mash is deffo high on my list, as I love sweet potatoe.

the first time i ate fish, it got stuck, fish can tend to ball up.

I used to eat mash very runny with cheese
tescos corned beef hash (the really cheap one, for some reason i rly liked it, lasted like 4 or 5 meals)
stewed steak (from a tin) with extra gravey (i didnt worry about cals etc early op, as i ate soooo little)
root mash with cheese

I was told not to worry about fats and carbs early on as you eat so little you cant help but loose weight. I mean obv protein is important, so add milk powder to soups to thicken, but take it slowly, the first time i tried fish, it got stuck, you will be amazed how quickly you fill up. Slowly slowly catchy monkey!

.x.

This is what's going to be the killer for me! I was always told to finish what's on my plate as a child, possibly why I ended up becoming obese!

I'm still the same, have to cram in the last mouthful even if I'm bursting. Will often finish what somebody else leaves too... can't bear to throw good food away!

Hi guys
thanks for all the good ideas, i'm 1 wk away from my band op and have given this lots of thought ,trying to make sure i have stuff in to eat when i return home , i can't believe how little i'll be able to eat , i found this very useful, i'll be trying most of these out i'm sure .

I just cant wait to be able to chew something, it feels I haven't chewed forever LOL.:D
