Just been to see gp so hopefully this is the start if my journey. With a BMI of 43 his first reaction was 'no chance' but after I told him I fitted into NICE guidelines and mentioned the new funding system he said he would try so I am getting bloods done on 4th September and have to go back and see him after that. I really hope I get somewhere with this. If anyone has experience of getting funding in barnsley advice would be a great help. Feel like it may be the blind leading the blind. The good thing is that my doctor totally believes in surgery as an option so at least I don't have to convince him as well.
