Gliclazide and the Milk Diet?

Hiya,? I take one Gliclazide tablet twice a day and the dietician says I should do the low carb pre -op but I've heard of others saying diabetics can do the Milk Diet. I'm a milk lover and really want to do that instead. I'm better at sticking to no food than little food as well! Has anyone who takes Gliclazide done the Milk Diet for their pre-op diet and if so how did you get on? Any adverse effects-or is it a total no-no?

Hi I was on gliclazide then I was changed to the new tablet sitigliptin and I done the milk diet with no problems.

The reason they changed my tablet was glizlazide can cause weight gain but sitigliptin doesnt.

i was in glic and did the milk diet however i was told to stop the glic before i did the milk diet...

You really should discuss this with your provider - as you need some form of carb in your diet.
