Hair Dye

Just wondering if anyone knows it there is a time limmit on dying hair before an operation. I'm due for op on Friday, but my hair is also due for a colour...any ideas?

Don't think it makes any difference really. My aunt had her hair done the morning of her hysterectomy op....
Not sure why it would affect anything...?

Sharon I do hope they don't do that, did you send the bill for getting your hair sorted to the hospital??!!

I'm having the wrap so not sure they do the leak check thing, guess I shall soon find out

I was warned by my surgeon and the anaesthetist that there's a chance of this happening, but nothing can be done about it. Needless to say, I was fine!

No, as I got my op on the NHS i think they would think me a cheeky and ungrateful wotsit if I did that.

Like ceejay they did *warn* me that this *might* happen but they also said "We will try to be careful" ......... well when I woke up looking like the Incredible Hulk I thought "careful, yeah, ha ha" ...... Hmmmmm.

I get my op thursday and i just had my hair done tonight think the blue dye only really takes on blonde hair but guess what my hairs blonde and brown opps lol x

Just for the record, and a few weeks later, want to mention that wobble's hair looked great for her op

Hi ladies, I'm a hairdresser best to dye your hair before your op. sometimes and very rarely if you colour it afterwards the medications you are on can alter how the colour comes out. X

I'm 4 days post op and feeling really well, liquid is going down no problem if anything my brain seems to be a bit behind lol

I had the blue dye rinse, mine missed my hair but I had it on my neck and behind my ears!! You'll know if they have used it, your wee will be blue!!
