Hi there. I had a mini, or 'loop' bypass on january 26 and it has been a massive sucsess. Ive lost over 9 stones and had hardly any side effects. When i was told i had had the loop there was a part of me that thought because it wasnt as invasive or as extreme as the standard bypass that the loss would be less noticable but that hasnt been the case at all. The only real difference between the 2 is the recovery time is much reduced with the loop and the operation itself is much quicker with less complications.
My surgeon said there had been about 50 done before mine and another 25 or so since and that the results are amazing them and that within a year or 2 the loop bypass would be the standard one.
