Hi everyone, 3 days post op and only starting to feel a bit better not much but a bit

I'm craving everything, this morning it was sausage and egg with red and brown sauce and now its banana and pancakes, is this normal, I could eat everything even though I actually couldn't i'd be sick but my body is just sending me mad with different cravings

Ate some yoghurt this morning, thankfully its staying down

Its perfectly normal! It will disappear without you realising in about a week or as soon as you start eating mushy food. I had thoughts about liquidizing pizza at one stage!

I'm 11 months now and struggling with cravings aswell, thing is I can pretty much eat what I want so the will power is in overdrive at the moment.

Im 6 days post bypass op and feel exactly the same as you x

hi hun,
12 days post op.....

I too have been fancying stuff....any stuff really...even stuff i dont normally like. Whats that all about then?

They told me i couldn't have yogs until week 4!!!

Do you think an innocent smoothie would be ok?
xxxxx

Glad the pains going down a little bit hunnie......i dont want you to regret having it done. Where your kiddies pleased to see you?
x

Had my bypass surgery op done at Walsall Manor 26th June. Haven't honestly felt the least bit hungry AT ALL since the surgery! I'm even struggling to keep up with the fluid intake. I managed one of the fortimel drinks yesterday and one today so far. sips of water regular and often but am nowhere near the 2 litres of water I was told to drink. Just can't manage it. The pain is not so bad, the soluble paracetamol takes the edge off it. Hope you get on well.

Steve

Hi there, do not be tempted by innocent smoothies, they are laden with calories!!! LOL

If you drank the whole carton over a day it would be about 400 calories! Thats a third of my average daily allowance. Its also nearly 100g of carbs.

I shout at the telly when they come on claiming to be good for you...:D

In a strange perverse way its good to know that a lot of people feel the same. As I left the clinic this morning I smelt TOAST!! How cruel was that..............

I had my a gastric bypass back in jan this year and that was the worse part of it all i found, i didnt feel hunger, still dont.... But its the smells of food, like passing cafes and mcdonalds, walking into tesco's and smelling fresh baked bread, its cruel... I even had to stop watching tv channels with adverts cos ya knew it was all gonna be food adverts hehe.... Ive managed to overcome the cravings now, basically because i know if i do try and give in to temptation i'll be either be sick or suffer with dumping, just isnt worth it...

I didn't feel hungry or fancy anything for the first 2 weeks but by then was really looking forward to sloppies and some mash and gravy :eat: but once I had it, it wasn't as fab as I'd hoped it to be

hi hun - I craved fish like mad. I had my surgery on 27th April and all I wanted was fish fish fish...I genuinly beleive that cravings are your body telling you what they want...ie. protein carbs fats etc. Im at the stage now where I can pretty much try any food, other than bread but that feeling of 'eyes bigger than your belly' hasnt gone away! I still plate up portions even on a smaller plate piled high....I eat 3-4 mouth fulls and have to give up! Dont worry about the cravings as they do get easier to deal...x

Salski... So bizarre, I'm 10 days post banding and i have been craving and dreaming about fish since the pre-op diet! Fish pie in particular, white sauce, cheesy topping. Mmmmmm..... Not long now! :)
