Hi

Thanks for the replies lovelies. I am just waiting after i saw the bariatric nurse. She asked me to wait for the group meeting (not sure). Had my blood test. If anyone can tell me what happens next or what is the procedure, it would be very helpful. Another thing, i have got another app letter with todays app letter. Its for jan and with Dr koak. What does that mean? I'm totally blank now. Brain is not working well in this cold weather.

Hi everyone,
I had my 1st app on 29th Nov. only with the nurse who takes the details and then a seminar with the diatitian who gave us more information regarding diff surgeries. there were not too many people. just 5 of us. some had the app with the surgeon on the same day but i have it on 14th jan. I am pleased that i have atleast been this far. in the mean time i am trying to gather finance myself so that i can go for private surgery and i hope i will get it soon. please pray for me everyone.

If you see Mr Koak, he is wonderful, he done my surgery just over a month ago, obviously if you are able to get your own funding then that is great for you , but i dont think Homertons waiting time is too bad i had mine done in three months from first appointment. Good luck xx

Hi Cheekybum,
yes i have app with Mr Kaok on the 14th Jan. can you please tell me what happens on the app as i don't have any idea. I have type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea (using cpap for 5 months now), infertility and high cholesterol. i have seen the obesity Physician Dr Coppack for 1 and half years now and he referred me for surgery. Can you also let me know if the funding is autometic as i heard from some of the posts here.

The consultation is fine, they run through the different types of surgery with you, and ask what you would prefer, answer any questions you may have, have a feel of your belly and tell you that he will now put your case forward to the multi disciplinary team meeting to discuss your case, you will then be discussed to see if any of the team wants to put you forward for anymore test etc. After about a month after your appointment you need to start calling Diane, she is the bariatric coordinator, and you also need to try and lose any weight they have told you to lose that way when you ring her you can tell her you have kept to your side of the deal. Any questions please dont hesitate to ask xx Hannah xx
