Hi all, just been to Docs for meds etc and got weighed while I was there. I've gained 5lbs:cry:in 10 days. I desperately need a fill!! The Doc says the steriods will have had an impact on the gain so not to worry but I felt such an idiot. Thought I'd share this with you so anyone else thats had a gain won't think they're alone. I know it happens and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I will lose this 5lbs plus more once I've got my fill so I'm not going to stress over it. (Will change my ticker when my daughter gets in cos I don't know how to do it lol). Moan over!!

HI hun, sorry to hear about the gain. Are you due TOTM? This can lead to up to 7lb gain at this time. I was told to expect a gain in the week leading up to my first fill. I was lucky not to gain but I didn't lose either.

When is your fill? I know how desperate I was for it and this morning I had lost again so even after 2 days it is working. I think having to go onto liquids adn purees helps get the weight moving again.

You are such a positive person and have said yourself that the 5lb will come off in no time.

Good luck.

Thanks Sue, and actually now you've said that Yes I'm due my totm in a few days. Had'nt even thought about that lol. I see the surgeon on thursday 25th and he'll book me in for my fill which should be within 2 weeks of me seeing him. I think I might try the puree/mushy for a couple of days too. Thanks for the help Sue. xxGaynorxx

Hi Gaynor

Hope you get your fill date soon. Pesky TOTM eh! those 5lbs will soon come off x

hi gaynor please dont worry 5llbs isnt to bad and its quite common for people to gain between there op and waiting for there 1st fill, this stage is one of the hardest as theres no restriction there if you have an empty band. the steriods wont help either as they give you a appetite.
ps.. some docs scales weigh more than home scales, my gp's scales always weigh me 7llbs heavier than everyone elses, im sure they have them calaberated that way to make people diet the sods x

Hi TBT. Just read your post. So sorry that you have gained. I have no experiece yet (band will be done 29th June) but just wanted to send some good vibes to you.:)

Oh Dear so sorry to hear you have gained, but like the others say steriods won't help and especially TOM, I never lost anything last week, so i know how you feel, But just you wait until you get your first fill, That 5lbs will just fly off you.
Sending you a BIG HUG!
Good luck honey!

Hi Gaynor

Sorry to hear you have gained weight, but like you said the steriods wont be helping but its a catch 22 you need to take your medication,i am sure you body will settle down soon dont forget your only about 5 weeks post op.
It wont be long before you get your first fill and then you will see the pounds flying off.

(((hugs)))

Gaynor, I had my op about 2 weeks after you . I have been following your progress and I am so impressed with your weight loss to date.

I hope I can do as well as you have so far.
You seem a very upbeat person, so this is just a blip in your weight loss story.

Hi Gaynor

I'm sure those steroids will have a lot to do with it too.

Hope you get your fill though to helps things along.

~hugs~

I wouldnt worry at all...with the totm AND steriods its no wonder its not showing as a loss yet!
Keep up the good work you're doing great :)
