Lansoprozole capsules

Dont worry its what you need to take after surgery to stop acid building up in your stomach.....I have been on them before a few years ago...just querying the dose others have been given...xx
 
Hi Charlie my doctor gave me them in fasttabs form you just pop them in the side of your mouth and they dissolve.xx
 
I was taking rabiprazole, once a day, but ran out and haven't been taking it since about 2 weeks after op. I'll be getting some more though.
 
Thanks for everyones replies, I was told to take 30mg twice a day but my GP is concerned that the British medical association does not licence them for more than once a day....but will contact my bariatric nurse to clarify. I have been told twice a day for six months preferrably two years than once a day for life....again each surgeon seems to be different...xx
 
thats intresting linda as on the info in the box it says for treatment of excessive production of acid in yr stomach the recommended initial dose is 60mg once a day for as long as yr dr decides. the maximum daily dose is 180mg twice a day am and pm
I always thought that the instructions were written in line with the BMA guidelines.
Whilst on the subject of meds when does everyone take there cocktail of drugs?
 
My old GP (just started with a new one) also disagreed w/30mg 2x a day for 6 months. She tried to reduce it to once per day but I checked w/my bariatric nurse & she said that is what Mr. Ammori prescribes. After 6 months I was instructed to go to once a day pretty much forever (min 2 years post-op).

I still have them once a day 30mg but will be asking at next appointment how much longer I will have to take them as not sure I need them really.

Hi Nic, I took an early dart from work so finished at 2am....it has been manic but at least time went quick...I am so ready for my bed just now...xx

Its same for me pg. I had mr ammori too. its good to know all of us get same advice from him cos seems to be a few conflicting ideas by other surgeons ive heard off ppl on here x
