Lying flat post op

I've been sleeping propped up since my op a week ago, but when I went to the docs today for a check he got me to lie on the couch flat so he could check my incisions. Oh my, that hurt so much! Getting back up was horrific, so I won't be rushing to do that again. I presume this gets easier as time passes by?

ooohhh yeah I remeber lying down flat after my op as I am just so used to doing that, and boy that hurt!! But yeah it is just something that gets easier in time

Hi, you will start to turn on your side etc without even realising you're doing it, you are still tender from the operation which is perfectly normal, you will start to loosen up in the next week or so which will be good for you as lying on your back can get sore after a while (well it was for me). Keep yourself mobile to help loosen everything

Oh gosh i remember that being really painful, But yeah it does get easier after a few weeks, now i can sleep anyway i want no problem

2 weeks post op tomorrow for me and I can lay down and get back up with no problem now, a week ago was a different story. I'm actually amazed how quickly most of the pain has gone.

I'm glad you posted this as I thought it was just me. When I had my op I couldn't lie down for 2 weeks and I slept propped up on my mum's couch. The first sleep I had led down was heavenly and it was a few days after I had my staples out.

Hey - 3 weeks post op for me today and I have a full range of movement babe...so don't worry it will ease. The only pain I get now is on my left side...my ribs are tender and get sore sometimes after eating or drinking...hubby says its summat inside...can't work out whats tucked up under my ribs....ooh maybe my liver? Will ask at my first fill in a few weeks......
