I can really sympathise on the vomiting and reflux. I had to have a Nissen for mine a few months ago and it's changed my life. Before that I was up vomiting every single night and couldn't sleep. Couldn't eat any fruit or anything even slightly acidic and was drinking tons of milk to ease the pain. Now I can eat "normally" and am slowly losing weight now that I'm not having to have so much dairy. I also think you eat more when you don't sleep properly as you fuel up on refined carbs when you're tired.

It's great you're now at a normal BMI and I hope the appt on Friday can do something about your reflux.

Hi Helen, Good luck with everything, i've had 3 ops for wls band in, out and now bypass so i understand how you feel with all the upset, indecision and fear. I truly hope they manage to get it all sorted for you, but the good news at the moment is that you are at a healthy weight. good luck xxx

Thought I would update this.....

Have had a barium swallow and the barium just sat at the bottom of my esophagus for a while before filtering into my pouch. Could be a stricture or hernia (more likely). Could not wait 6 weeks for another appointment so called up and asked to be seen on Friday to see where we go from here, probably an endoscopy. I am in a lot of pain and cannot lie flat for more than a few minutes so have raised the head of the bed.

Sometimes feel like this will never end....

Im waiting for WLS but in the mean time they have been investigating my ongoing pain. Ive had a barium swallow and they have found a hernia and reflux. Like you I can hardly lie down, if I do I get awful awful reflux and after I eat anything my hernia gives me so much pain. All this on top of being morbidly obese and having a 3 year old, its taking its toll :cry: Ive got to go for a camera down my throat in a few weeks so they can take a closer look at the reflux and hernia.
