hi there welcome to minis ! congratulations on your recent op, only losing a pound at this stage is very common as you will be very swollen and the body will be retaining fluid to help its self to heal and thats why lack of weight loss, the swelling will go and the weight will start to move soon. try not to worry x

Hi there, :welcome2:to mini's. I was banded 3 weeks ago and don't seem to be losing much. I lost a lot more on the pre op diet but know once I've had a fill then the weight will start to drop (can't wait for that fill lol) so don't worry too much just be patient and your loss will come.
Good luck xxGaynorxx

Hi Liz thanks for that, I have been reading your posts for the past few weeks and found them very helpful.I am still very sore, but not as bad an experience as I thought it would be. So glad its over with now.Are there any other Banders there from Dublin ???

:D Hi looking forward, i just wanted to say hello and welcome. Congratulations on your band!!!! Unfortunately i cant help you about your weight loss (i am waiting for a bypass), but there are loads of people on this forum that have a band and are incredibly knowledgable. Hang in there they will be along soon......
good luck x

Hi and WELCOME to minis you will be fine now Liz has got you she is VERY good at all things banded lol Looking forward to following your weight loss and watching you become a successful member of the losers bench x

Hi there...I'm almost 2 weeks post banding and have only lost 4lb since op...I think I've lost inches but forgot to measure before I had surgery

it's still early days, so don't worry too much :)

the 1st 6 weeks after banding is the hardest before the 1st fill, 1 because the swelling makes us retain fluid, and 2 because when the swelling goes the normal desire to eat returns, so the 1st fill is a milestone to start working with the restriction. the initial restriction felt after the op is usually only down to op swelling which goes usually after the 2nd week. (some surgeons do put a small fill in during surgery to kick start the weight loss)

Hi, welcome to minis. Haven't had my surgery yet but there are lots of people who will be happy to help you through the tough time.

My surgeon does'nt put anything in when he does the op so I really don't have much restriction. I DO have some though because I know when enoughs enough and start to feel quite sick as if the foods resting in the back of my throat. GIVE ME A FILL lol

hi gaynor, did he tell you that he didnt put a fill in during surgery ? as alot do it but choose not to tell the patient until the 1st official fill apointement.

Welcome to minis!
Sorry i can't help as i am pre op myself but didn'y want to read and run!
