Hi Darren and welcome. Congrats on finally getting your funding, what a long road you have had. Hopefully your op will change your life, you certainly have had your troubles. It is terrible you haven't been helped before, but funding seems to be getting harder and harder, so well done on getting it now.

Welcome to lots of reading, and lots of posting, informative information, and some giggles on the way.

Welcome Darren :welcome2: Congratulations on getting your funding. You will love this site as everyone is very warm & will help wherever they can & even if they can't answer a question they still let you know they are there for you. :)

Similar in Cornwall Darren, one bypass a week, but at least you are on the right road now.

I hear of some area's having lots of op's a day, and specialist wards, that sounds so cool being with other patients who don't look at you oddly as you have done this to yourself. I also felt very uncomfortable, as the lady in the next bed had been very ill and in hospital since may 1st which again made me feel guilty.

I wish you all the best on your journey, Darren and hope you don't have to wait too long now, as you have had such a long wait already.

Welcome to the site Darren,

I'm another relative newbie here and found it excellent. Hope you don't have to wait too long for your surgery noe you've got your funding!

Hi Darren,

Welcome, there is going to be lots and lots of support here for you and tons of new friends to chat to. I wish you a speedy recovery when your date finally arrives. It has been such a long journey for you but I admire your strength of will and determination to keep going. One word of advice, please ensure your fluid intake on your pre-op diet is at lease double to your normal/current intake. Ask questions and stay informed because it all helps make this journey worth while. Take care and looking forward to seeing you on the looser bench. :D x
