Yeap, obstructive sleep apnea is the version I have. I use a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine each and every night. Basically have to wear a mask, similar to a pilots oxygen mask. The sleep test for me was to go into the sleep lab, and have around 36 probe monitor points gel glued all around my head, and then to have a harness fitted to my chest to monitor movement. The got to go to sleep. In the morning I got the results!!! lol Had osa quite bad, and was fitted with the machine within 4 weeks. Have since had an operation on my leg, where they would not put me "under", but I had to wear the mask whilst they operated.
Good luck and dont worry.
