Slower weight loss after revision

I am due to have revision from band to bypass in August at Nuffield Hospital in Leeds with. Mr James Halstead operating. My question is why do they say you lose weight slower after having revision surgery? And what is people’s experience of this who have done band to bypass. Thanks x

I'm assuming its because food can pass through your digestive system quicker I suppose?
The band obviously slows it down on the way into your system whereas the bypass opens it back up and you can force more food down easier perhaps?
