Support Groups

Hi

Does anyone know how I find out if there is a support group I can go to in my area?

I didnt have an aftercare package Im being monitored by the NHS dietician and shrink but I wanted to go to a group.

Any info would be great ta, Im in Birmingham West Midlands.

Have you had a look here to see if there's one near you BOSPA - The British Obesity Surgery Patient Association

Looked on MSN, and there is a Hull support group with a lot of members as one of their groups.

Couldn't find much else on google sorry

Thanks ever so much, they are all still about 40 mins drive but I might try one in Telford one night. You'd think Birmingham been the main city they'd have one here! How rude!! Anyways - Have you ever been to one?

I know this was not for me but I have gone to one for the Manchester area and it was good (more bypassers than banders). It is actually how I decided to try and get NHS funding because of the ladies there who had gone NHS. It is held at a private hospital (where CharlieGirl had surgery) my GP told me about. It might do to find out if your local private hospitals might do one??

Hi I might call the private hospital that I had it done at thinking about it. I think It was part of the aftercare package that I didnt have but surely it cant be that much to go to one!!
