Hi there

These are meant to be fab - cook stuff really healthily, all dishwasher safe, and allows u to cook a whole batch of chips or wot ever u are cooking with just one small spoonful of oil, so everything u cook is less then 3% fat.....bargain in price too.............

Yes and I love it. Not done anything for me post bypass not sure why but best thing OH mastered it in a mo and does all his own chips etc and sprays them with frylight so really low fat. I've made wedges, chiicken all sorts in it and its so easy to clean.

am i right in thinking it takes about 40 mins to do a kg of chips

Yes if its full but it has a nice little timer and obligingly bleeps when its ready. One portion cuts the time down to about 25 mins he tells me. Now I'm thinking need to try it for me again shortly!!

I don't want to worry anyone who has one, or put anyone off who is thinking of getting one. But, BBC's Watchdog did a report on Tefal Actifry machines bursting into flames last year. Tefal may well have addressed the problem, but beware. Take a look at this:

They do look to be great but I wouldn't fancy them bursting into flames.
They sell them on Ideal world for about £50 maybe its them ones that goes up in flames .

Five Days Post-op

When i begin to eat normally again, I will surely make my Actifry an everyday gadget. I got mine at an amazing clearance price of $50. My DH made fries and wings for the kids last night and they looked and smelled amazing. The kids loved it. I can't wait!

I've just up graded to the new family one with the top plate in it, my daughter had one and moved house where it was lost( another fore for stolen) so I'm getting a new one and she can have my old one but she doesn't know it yet. I couldn't live without mine, the family get to tethers are great using it, sausages are coked in no time and the fat you get out of them is unreal. I do curries all sorts well worth the money and spare parts are a reasonable price. There was a problem with some of them but it was people not keeping an eye on them and not cleaning them properly. The ones on ideal world are at the moment £199.99 on flexor pay of £50:00 over four payments they are the same as the ones on Amazon and eBay but a bit cheaper At the moment. I've had my first one four years with no problems, you have to respect them just like a chip pan.
