How blooming ridiculous is that, they will need someone to watch them 24/7! What a waste of taxpayers money. I am astounded! !

You're right Bluediamond, it was interesting reading.........

Will wait patiently to see if they appear on The Sun Diet page as success stories....

will be interested to read bout them in a year or so x
Yes, the proof will be seen in the results in the future, if this doesn't work I say take their children away. They don't deserve to have them if they're going to abuse them this way.

SInce when is 1st 12lb MASSIVE for a 21 month old. My daughter is 20 moths and that weight.

It is perfectly normal she is on the 50% line, so totally average.

They have got to watch it as they will have parents who will be worried sick now that they have an obese child.

My son is 5 and 3 stone but was 2 stone at 2. These people need to get their fact right before scare mongering.

Oh, and the whole thing is ridicules. yes they are over weight but they are from from the heaviest people.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that 1st 12lbs wasn't big. My son was 24lbs at a year; I thought treble the birth weight at a year was a reasonable rule of thumb.

I think this is a wicked waste of money and agree that whilst they are all heavy they are not as big as some by a long way. Is this 'big brother' gone mad?

very valid points they aren't massive massive - I weighed the same as the dad not long ago lol! although, i was bloomin big! it seems a very drastic thing to put in place, ther must some underlying issues that havent been mentioned in the article x

I am glad others picked up on the "massive" 21 month old. That child is perfectly normal in weight. My 11 year old weighed that when she was that age and she is nowhere near overweight.

He's normal now and kids that young shouldn't be on a diet anyway but it's obvious he'll end up like his siblings, something definately amiss in that household and it starts with the parents.

I want to answer but I don't know what to say!!! What a waste of money. Education is important but improving your eating and exercise habits must be self-imposed otherwise this family will just rebel. I can't help thinking that this scheme is doomed to fail. It's a pity because the children will suffer and they don't deserve that. Mxx
