Upper GI Surgery

Hi everyone,
I was going through the referral letter and just realised that my GP referred me to an Upper GI surgeon. I don't have any idea what that is and now concerned. Is this the same as bariatric surgeon? If not then i think i will be in total mess. Anyone has any Idea about what is Upper GI surgery?

Bariatric surgeons are upper GI surgeons - many upper GI surgeons do other things as well like hernias etc.
