Waiting lists?

Hi all,

I was wondering, do certain things bump you up on the waiting list?

For example, higher (50+) BMI, type 2 diabetes patients likely to be seen faster than 40+ BMI with no diabetes?

Thanks,
Jen

It also depends greatly on where you live, some hospitals have waiting lists as short as 6 weeks others can be anything upto 2 years.
Good luck.

:welcome:

At Sunderland the waiting times are the same for everyone but I've heard of a couple of people who have a really high bmi taking longer but there doesn't seem to be a specific reason for this. If you need psych tests etc that tends to make the process longer but otherwise it's the same for everyone.

Once on the waiting list you could get offered a cancellation which would get you in faster - if you're lucky x

Where I am if your bmi is over 60 it takes longer cos you need a balloon for a few months before the op but other than that once your on the waiting list its 6 -8 weeks (within 2 monthz) xxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Newcy. I'm jut being impatient!

I was impatient for 18 months waiting for my op but every now and again I'd forget about it and then the time would go by much faster. It's natural to just wish it would happen immediately but you will get there in the end x
