POPPED THAT FAT SUIT!
Hi everyone
New clothes, what should i buy as i start to shrink.
Also when did you start getting rid of your tent type clothes!
Kim.

I have sold a lot of my big clothes on ebay and made some money for the smaller stuff! I started buying as soon as my old clothes started feeling loose and havent stopped since, cos I 'm still shrinking. I try and buy a little something each week so it doesnt hurt my bank account too much x

I just buy leggings now, and my friend who had wls 6 weeks before me passes her jeans down, so I have 2 pairs. I bought 3 jumpers in the sales and have 3 that my friend gave me and that's it. I have to go and buy another bra as my girls keep falling out the bottom of the cups now lol, even my knickers are baggy round the cheeks but hate the thought of paying out money I don't have for clothes that only fit for 2-3 weeks. One of the jumpers I bought in the sales is now very baggy!
Nice isn't it x

I've decided to only buy clothes every 2 sizes down. And then, only the minimum amount, as it could get very expensive otherwise! I've found that a belt is a very useful accessory (never needed one before lol)

I've been buying bits from the charity shops in the village, I picked up a pair of size 18 black M&S jeans for 3.50 about a month ago and they fit lovely. Got a fab 100% wool M&S work suit too ready for when I'm a 12/14 almost brand new for £15 don't think it's been worn more than a couple of times and it had a dry cleaning ticket on it. You can find some great stuff in there for not very much at all and it's helping a charity too. I used to manage the Cancer Research UK shop in our village before I had my eldest.

Kate x

i sold some on e=bay to be able to buy some smaller ones especially as was christmas and my 50th birthday :) but i just wear leggings and tops that are a bit too big in the house but will have to buy some smart stuff soon for when i go back to work x and speaking of knickers i was walking uphill to sainsbury's the other day and luckily i had trousers on coz my knickers just slipped down i was so busy laughing as i was walking and trying to hitch them up with my stick in one hand and shopping trolley in other OH dear i must've looked a right sight :) i was never so glad supermarkets have toilets in all my life :) pulled them up and carried on , then put them in bin when i got home :)

I love charity shops, you can find some real treasures - so I'm with Kate on that one!
Get rid of the bigger stuff as soon as you can - and I'm sure they will be of use to others too.

Having lost and gained weight for years my wardrobe is very size diverse! I must order them in size soon so I don't 'slip past' something I could have worn......

Maybe it would be a good idea to swap/share outfits at the meets that seem to happen in most places??

my wardrobe was full of different sizes as well. i sorted everything out the other day and sent some to charity shops , re cycle bin and e-bay :) don't you think prices in charity shops have gone up so much it's sometimes cheaper to buy stuff in proper shops x

Yes, some charity shops can be quite expensive, avoid those like the plague or only buy something designer, really well made, or classic in there!
I'm really looking forward to wearing things I actually love/like rather than just something that covers me up. Who decided that if you are large you want to look like someones *really bad choice* curtains???

yes it has Angie. One charity shop I went into was charging £13 for a size 10 sundress, that came from George! They were selling them brand new for £8.99.
My hubbys aunt works in a charity shop and managed to get me 2 coats, one is a La Redoute, and one a M&S for £5 each! Bargains, I'm sure it's just becaus eshe worked in there they were that price. I have passed one on to my cousin, the other I will wear till it's hanging off me. My coats from last winter were a size 30, this winter a size 20!

I got a nice coat from Asda £15 shouldve been £35 and really needed it my old one was size 26/28 and this is 22 so even though it won't fit me for too long i feel better in one that fits than a tent :) my daft hubby said i should use the sewing machine to alter things, well it was very hard trying to tell him about how shoulders bust lines etc etc just won't alter that much and still look right :)

When I'm in this position, I,ll buy from ebay, charity shops and underwear from Asda (£5 for a bra). Obviously, when I'm at goal weight, I will splash out continuously!!!! x:D

where in lancashire are you toxingirl i'm in Morecambe and where are you having op i had mine done at Murrayfield spire :)

I got some new cloths in Materlan yesterday. Some smart black trousers, jeans that can be ajusted as you lose weight, black exercise trousers, two jumpers and wellie boots all for under £50 (my birthday money) also students get discount so that saved 10%

Car boot sales, charity shops, jumble sales, ebay and sale rails....

Charity shops can vary in value for money as i recently discovered. Ebay is okay if you don't get hit with extortionate packing fees, i recently had a going out dress for £1.04p off ebay and can't wait to wear it lol...

Otherwise, just scrounge off thin friends...

I was skinny 7 or so years ago and thankfully kept some of the clothes, especially some nice medium size jumpers, and some gorgeous coats and jackets. I am working towards fitting into the jackets; I already fit into some of the coats, and I fit into all the M size jumpers. Other than that, I have been making trips to my lovely dressmaker who has been taking in some skirts (I don't wear trousers), and shortening them too so they look cute and flattering. She'll tell me when they can't be taken in any more. I wasn't that huge before the op (under 14st) so my clothes weren't exactly tents, just a couple of sizes too big for now.

I cleared out my wardrobe at the beginning of the year, resigning myself that I'd never fit into them. I had alsorts of different sizes, most with tags on....things I'd bought over the years for "when I lose the weight!" That was before I decided to go on this adventure:sigh:

So now I have only a couple of outfits to my name, neither of which fit....I toodled off to Matalan last week, headed straight to the "fat section" at the back and realised that all the range started at size 18......I'm now too small for it:eek::eek::eek:

I'm really stuck now....I dont want to wear the same old styles and I haven't a clue what or where to start. Arghhhh!!!!

Maybe I'll have to ring Gok and go naked:eek::eek::eek: I DONT THINK SO!!!!
